Tips:
While there are exceptions, the stories, poems, and plays we publish tend to work with contemporary settings, have strange or imagined elements to them, and run under 6000 words.
We look especially for memorable work, surprising imagery, a natural sense of place & person, layered-storytelling, and well-explored perspectives & ideas. The works we publish fit a variety of overlapping styles: absurdist, uncanny, fabulist, cross-genre, experimental, bizarro, modern fairy tale, new weird, mythic, surreal, fantastic, etc.

Resubmission
Please use this category when sending a work that you have rewritten and that you were explicitly invited to resubmit. This category will close at the end of the reading period. (If you withdrew a submission in order to edit and resubmit it, we recommend waiting at least a full week before sending your new draft, at which point you should use the regular genre categories.)
